When the church gathers, we bring the worship of our lives to focus with songs and other contributions.
We have a large team of musicians and singers who serve the congregation in preparing and leading worship each week. This team is overseen by Matthew Jeal.
Songs
We sing hymns and contemporary songs from a wide range of sources. Songs are selected on the basis of their theological, poetic and musical merit, and the overall balance of our repertoire.
Here’s a Spotify and YouTube Playlist of core songs to give you a flavour of what we’re currently using in our worship life as a church:
Joining the Worship Team
We’re always welcoming new musicians and singers to our worship team. In broad terms, we look for depth of discipleship, commitment to the church and musical skill.
You need to be:
- A worshipper of Christ
- Committed to Kings and part of a cell group
- Convinced of the value of corporate worship
- Able to play the songs we use from chord sheets (here’s an example)
- Willing to practise and learn the songs
- Willing to attend worship meetings twice a term
If you think you meet those requirements, please get in touch with Matthew Jeal to arrange an informal audition.
