Serving at Kings

There are lots of ways to get involved with serving at Kings! Whether on a Sunday at Morning or Evening Worship, or in our mid-week ministries, we believe that serving on a team is a part of our worship and a great way of blessing one another. We encourage everyone committed to Kings to consider how they might be able to get involved in serving.

We run children’s groups during our morning service each Sunday, with games, activities and Bible teaching. Join the kids team to be a part of the incredible privilege of planting new seeds of faith into the young ones of our church.

Prayer is a key part of our church life and we offer prayer ministry every Sunday at our services. If you have a passion for prayer and coming alongside those responding to the Word of God, it’d be great to have you on the team.

We love chatting over tea and coffee after our services! The Refreshments team are around to facilitate this by setting up, serving and clearing away the refreshments. This is a great team to be a part of to connect with people.

The setup team is a crucial part of making our Sunday services happen and a great way to serve the church practically! The team are around to set up before the service and pack down afterwards.

Lots goes on behind the scenes to help our Sunday services happen, both in person and online. If you’re interested in audio mixing, projection, video mixing then we’d love to hear from you. Training is available for those wanting to learn.

We believe giving people a friendly welcome as they arrive at church is so important! The welcome team are here to offer a smiling face at the door and make people feel welcome and comfortable at church.

We love worshipping God together as a church! Our Worship Team serve us by leading us in musical worship during our services. If you’re musical and would like to help people encounter God through worship, get in touch!

Our youth groups meet during our morning service for community, activities, and Bible teaching. If you have a heart for youth, join the team to build up, champion, and encourage our young people in their faith!

The After Hours team seek to love our neighbours by handing out free hot drinks to passersby on their way to or back from a night out. This is a great way of practically blessing people, but also creates opportunities to share the Gospel!

Alpha is a great space for people interested in exploring the fundamentals of Christian faith. There are many ways of serving at Alpha including table leading, preparing the meals, and more – get in touch for more info!

Appleby Cafe is a hub of community and a great place to study, work, or have your 1-2-1 discipleship chats over coffee! Previous experience is wonderful but not necessary as all volunteers will receive training. Get in touch!

Food is often a vital part of church events and a great way of making people feel loved and cared for! The Catering & Hospitality team functions on an ad hoc basis, and is perfect for those passionate about food and people!

We love our church family! The community & socials team help facilitate opportunities for having fun together, deepening fellowship and friendships, and welcoming newcomers to our community through church socials and events.

The Media team are passionate about bringing life, creativity, and energy into our communication to help people better connect with God and with the church. If you have creative, media, or socials skills, or are willing to learn, we’d really love to hear from you!

A great way of showing the love of God to our community is through practical service and outreach in the Sherburn Road area. From garden outreach, befriending, lunch clubs to festival church, we’d love to help you get involved.

Pipsqueaks is our weekly babies & toddlers group for both people from the church and beyond! The team help set up, run activities, and engage with the children and their carers. If you’d like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you!

The Christian faith is not something we do alone, but in community! A really great way of doing this is to meet up regularly with another Christian to read the bible, chat about faith and pray together. Get in touch to find out more!
