Mark Bonnington

Senior Minister; Teaches New Testament and Doctrine

Mark studied Maths and then Theology before moving to Durham in 1995. He wrote his PhD on Galatians and then taught New Testament for twelve years in Durham and for three years at Leeds University. He teaches part-time at undergraduate and MA level at Cranmer Hall. He has been a member of the New Testament Research Seminar in Durham University’s department of Theology and Religion for over 30 years. He is passionate about the Bible and how it shapes the life of the church.
Chris Morgan

Operations Manager; Internship Coordinator

Chris came to Durham as a Maths and Economics undergraduate in 2007 before doing the Internship and Ministry Training Programme from 2010. Chris has an MA in Theology and Ministry from Durham and spent many years working in Student Ministry before becoming Operations Manager for the church in 2020. He is married to Rachel, a primary school teacher, and they have two young children. In the little bit of spare time he has once the kids are in bed, he loves watching sports, getting out into the garden and is a green energy geek!
Katherine Jacklin

Pastoral Coordinator; Ministry Training Programme Coordinator

Katherine is a Durham theology graduate and has an MA in Theology and Ministry. She was an RE teacher and school chaplain and coordinates our Ministry Training Programme.
Ruth Perrin

Associate Staff Member; Leadership and Pastoral Studies Tutor

Ruth was on staff at Kings from 2006 to 2013 and continues as an Associate Staff Member. After an MA in Theology and Ministry, she completed a PhD, studying how ‘Generation Y’ read the Bible. She has many years of experience in mission, discipleship training, and Bible teaching, and continues as a post-doctoral researcher in sociology of religion. She tutors at the theological college in Durham and was honoured for her research work with the invitation to become an Ecumenical Canon of Durham Cathedral.
Other members of the Church are involved in the training programme as School of Theology tutors.
